Skate Park!

So, I had heard that there was a skate park in Globe, but wondered where it was. I looked it up and it is supposed to be at the Community Center Park, but after going there a few times I just couldn't figure out where.

Well I have found it! I drove through an open gate that said "Unauthorized Vehicles Prohibited Do Not Enter" and I wound around back onto pavement and around and took a turn here and there and I found the skate park along with some basketball courts and tennis court.

As I was leaving I decided to take a different, fully paved road down and out so that I could find a more "approved" way of entering this area of the park. Turns out it is by using the road before the actually community center entrance. Also, If you are not so lazy you can simply walk up past some of the baseball fields and make your way up to the upper, upper area of this awesome park.


Bring bikes, maybe a skateboard and have a skate park date with your spouse. See if you can come up with some tricks. If you don't have gear, try getting into parkour! Look it up and see if the two of you can create some cool moves.

Marriage Reconnect

Talk about traditions on this date. What traditions (non-holiday related) did your families have when you were growing up? What traditions would you like to keep alive and make a part of your family of creation? When I was growing up my family often would go to the park on a Sunday evening or other night of the week and we would play soccer together. Other times we would take our bikes to an empty parking lot. One of my favorite "spur of the moment" park times was the times we would all play "red-rover" together and have pizza or KFC.  See how the traditions that are shared helped to shape your spouse into who they are. Enjoy possibly hearing some new stories from them.

It's time to get creative with the camera and with recognizing what you wouldn't regularly recognize or pay attention to.  Together you will work on a scavenger hunt for any and all reflections of yourself. Ghost Town

You live in an old, Arizona ghost/mining town. This town is full of rich history and the history is alive! Keep up on the schedules of different tours and happenings in Globe. This would be a great date. There are jail tours, tours of the old courthouse building (currently the Post Office), and Cemetery Tours.    There are exciting presentations happening at different times throughout the year that will take you back to a time once alive in Globe. There were outlaws and many other exciting things happening. Marriage Reconnect Depending on what community tour or activity you participate in, it will be a great opportunity to be with your honey. There are really great ghost stories in all the tours, which leaves a lot to discuss. These kinds of dates are much more interactive than watching a movie together.

Once Upon A Time...

Tonight, you are the authors of a beautifully written and illustrated children's novel. Work together on a list of what makes the best stories, things your own children would love in a story and begin! Have the setting be somewhere you have been together or right here in Globe......A mining book. Get creative! (Don't worry, you can use extra ideas the next time you write a book!) Choose your medium of art! This book could all be illustrated by finger painting, or only stick figures, stickers, etc. Ok, one of you drive out and pick up some DQ! Marriage Reconnect As you work on this work of art, compliment your spouse's creativity and ideas. Recognize the things that each of you contribute to the project. Both of you share/read this one of a kind story with your children.
