Library Date!  You probably wouldn't think of a library date--that's so college. But seriously, the local library can be loads of fun and here you have two choices--Globe or Miami Library.

The Miami Library is actually a historic building; it was the Miami High School Gym and has a lot of memorabilia and history within...they probably have a few history books too.  😆




Marriage Reconnect

Play a game at the library. Of course, keep it within reason and library appropriate...ssshhhh!

Examples:
  • Dictionary War--each of you get a dictionary. You can find outrageous words and see if the other knows what they mean or find words to describe each other. Battle it out!
  • Conversations completely from the lines on the page. You can use regular books or poetry books. Have a conversation...using only lines from the book you chose. 
  • Find a movie to check out and head home for a cuddly afternoon.
  • Read children stories to each other. Practice your expressive reading abilities.

This date could be pretty fun! It's time to get creative with the camera and with recognizing what you wouldn't regularly recognize or pay attention to.  Together you will work on a scavenger hunt for any and all reflections of yourself. Reflections in windows, on the side of a shiny car, in water, and what else? Snap pictures of the reflections you find. Reflections are everywhere. Get creative and be outgoing and adventurous with this. Laugh and talk with your best friend. So, where am I going with this? Work together to reflect on the best dates and times you have had together while married and before you were married. Are there things that you used to love doing as a couple and need to start up again? Is there something you should do so that you can reflect back on it in the future? Think of the memories you have made and resolve to make new memories. Maybe even start a list! This is a great morning date and then you could go grab some breakfast burros from your favo...

Ghost Town

You live in an old, Arizona ghost/mining town. This town is full of rich history and the history is alive! Keep up on the schedules of different tours and happenings in Globe. This would be a great date. There are jail tours, tours of the old courthouse building (currently the Post Office), and Cemetery Tours.    There are exciting presentations happening at different times throughout the year that will take you back to a time once alive in Globe. There were outlaws and many other exciting things happening. Marriage Reconnect Depending on what community tour or activity you participate in, it will be a great opportunity to be with your honey. There are really great ghost stories in all the tours, which leaves a lot to discuss. These kinds of dates are much more interactive than watching a movie together.

Once Upon A Time...

Tonight, you are the authors of a beautifully written and illustrated children's novel. Work together on a list of what makes the best stories, things your own children would love in a story and begin! Have the setting be somewhere you have been together or right here in Globe......A mining book. Get creative! (Don't worry, you can use extra ideas the next time you write a book!) Choose your medium of art! This book could all be illustrated by finger painting, or only stick figures, stickers, etc. Ok, one of you drive out and pick up some DQ! Marriage Reconnect As you work on this work of art, compliment your spouse's creativity and ideas. Recognize the things that each of you contribute to the project. Both of you share/read this one of a kind story with your children.
